Hog Roast High Roding – Welcoming a New One to the Family with Shared Dining

Hog Roast ColchesterDining is one of the great pleasures of life. It is something that can be shared with friends, family, over good times and even bad. It’s where memories are so often made, relived, cherished and shared. It’s where celebration always goes, be it your wedding, an anniversary, birthday or otherwise. It is what brings people together and welcomes in new parties.

So, then, to have our dining at Hog Roast High Roding invited to a christening here in High Roding feels like just the perfect encapsulation of all that. A christening: an event solely made to welcome a new child or member into the family. A moment where religious faith opens its arms and welcomes on in another, and where life and love and family is celebrated. Why wouldn’t we want to cater such an event?

So, when Hog Roast High Roding’s head chef Julian picked up the phone to Lara, who then requested our stylish catering for her daughter’s christening, we jumped at the chance. Knowing that family were coming together to celebrate a new life was all the excuse we needed to know that this was an event just for us.

So what kind of menu brings people together in summer for such an event? Well the obvious answer has to be a barbecue! A classic of the British summertime, it is one of our favourite pastimes the whole nation over the second the sun comes out. As we’ve been beset by multiple record breaking heatwaves this year, the barbecue has been more popular than ever. We were quick to put together a barbecue menu that would such an event, knowing that 85 guests would be in attendance and the sun would be out. With our own-designed machine roaster and grill, we knew we’d be able to keep the burgers and sausages coming all afternoon long without issue.

And as this is no ordinary event, but a unique welcome for a newborn, our barbecue was unlikely to be ordinary, either. Our gourmet barbecue menu was just what was needed for the event, with guests loving their homestyle sausages, burgers, Thai chicken kebabs, fresh sides, and even delicious summery desserts to close out the dining.

Our thanks to Lara for choosing Hog Roast High Roding to cater such a lovely and joyous event!
