The night before your wedding might be filled with many mixed emotions, nerves, excitement and anticipation building. Your friends and family will be gathering together and everyone will be discussing what the big day might bring. On 18th April 2026, we had the absolute pleasure of catering one of these unforgettable evenings and it couldn’t have been a better fit for what Hog Roast Bures is all about.
Set for a relaxed 5pm serving, this pre-wedding gathering was designed to bring everyone together in an informal, welcoming way before the big day. With around 30 guests, it was the perfect balance between intimate and lively, exactly the kind of atmosphere where delicious food shines through.
Our classic hog roast menu was the perfect addition to this relaxed evening, at the centre of the feast was our signature whole roasted pig, slow cooked on site to perfection and served with traditional favourites like, crispy crackling and apple sauce. Guests could pile their plates high with tender pork, topped with sage and onion stuffing, all tucked into soft bread rolls or wraps, which were gluten-free on request too, so no one missed out. To keep things light and balanced, guests could also add a range of salads and colourful sides to their plate, including tomato and mozzarella salad, mixed salad and creamy coleslaw. Of course, no feast is complete without a hearty carb option, our hosts opted for a mix of freshly made chips and sweet potato fries, served hot and crisp with a selection of sauces, salt, and vinegar. Simple, satisfying, and exactly what guests want at a relaxed celebration like this.
As with all of our feasts, we always ensure that every guest leaves feeling happy and well-fed no matter what their dietary requirements may be. The grilled vegetable and halloumi skewers were a crowd favourite, especially paired with wraps, tzatziki dip, and a sweet chilli sauce that added a spicy kick. Alongside that, our vegan pulled jackfruit in a rich hickory BBQ sauce offered a hearty, flavour filled alternative that had people going back for seconds.
Our goal at Hog Roast Bures is to provide tasty food, seamless service and a stress free experience for all of our guests, so our hosts could focus on relaxing before a busy day ahead. Therefore our catering managers Kirsty and Julian aimed to ensure everything ran smoothly from start to finish, allowing the hosts to do just that and enjoy the evening with their guests. We really enjoyed being a part of the evening and kicked off our hosts wedding celebrations by creating a chance for everyone to connect and unwind.
