The summer wedding season continued apace this past weekend, even with a record breaking heatwave sweeping through the nation. If there is one team that can handle the heat, it is the team of caterers and chefs at Hog Roast Colchester. We spend all day by a hot fire pit spit roaster, so naturally we’re ready to work in the heat already!
And, so, our wedding services on this scorching weekend could also continue apace. One that we wish to tell you about is the beautiful wedding reception for Zak and Charlotte, who held their special day at the elegant and dazzling Chalkney Water Meadows. A perfect venue considering the weather, the Chalkney Water Meadow is nestled nicely in an old woodland just a little north west outside of Colchester. It offers a quiet, quaint, beautiful setting to host your special day. Situated by a river, there was a great cooling effect to watching the water trickle by while the surrounding trees and tipi tent also offered plenty of cooling shade – just the thing needed under such hot and sunny conditions.
This helped to keep guests comfortable, as well as the Hog Roast Colchester team too. We were able to set up our serving tent under some nice shade, keeping the team cool and ensuring our foods don’t spoil in the heat. Not that there was going to be much chance of that, because with our gourmet barbecue range all foods were of course going to be snapped up quick!
Another perfect addition given the weather, our gourmet barbecue range was just the thing that any guest could have asked for on such a sunny summer’s day. Chef Julian spent the morning handmaking our gourmet burgers and sausages, ready to throw on the grill along with Thai chicken kebabs and marinated spare ribs. But no barbecue is complete without its side accompaniments, and ours offered plenty of comfort and cooling with a pasta salad, creamy slaw, sweet potato and regular fries all making the menu.
The Hog Roast Colchester team had a wonderful time with all 150 guests, and we would like to thank Zak and Charlotte for choosing our wedding catering for their special day once more!
