Freya had planned a family party to take place this December, as a way for everyone to gather before the festive period gets too busy. She had planned to have everyone over at her home, listen to Christmas music, have a catch-up, and enjoy a delicious meal from Hog Roast Colchester. For the catering, she chose our classic hog roast, with a few additional dishes to create a well-rounded meal. This was sure to be the perfect meal for the family to enjoy, with plenty of dishes for every guest to choose from.
On the day of the party, the country was hit with racing winds and a big storm, combined with lots of icy rain. Luckily, Freya’s area was facing much milder weather than other parts of the UK, which meant that the party was okay to go ahead. The Hog Roast Colchester team arrived at the private venue in the morning, giving us plenty of time to prepare the menu on-site. We began by slow-roasting the hog and allowing it around five hours to cook to perfection. Once ready, the pork was expertly carved and served in fresh bread rolls, alongside sage and onion stuffing, homemade applesauce, and crispy crackling. Additionally, we served succulent pork sausages, marinated chicken kebabs, homemade chips, gourmet coleslaw, and a selection of salad dishes. Overall, this created a delicious menu that was ideal for keeping warm with such horrible weather outside!
