Last Friday, 6th February, we were honoured to be a part of a unique event at the Trinity Church in Brentwood. We wanted to match the catering to a music festival with American roots, adding to the upbeat atmosphere and with the hosts opting for our southern slow roast, we knew this would be the perfect addition to a memorable day. As the guests were celebrating American music, the southern slow cooked barbecue was a natural fit. It’s relaxed, hearty and packed with flavour, which is the kind of food that encourages guests to settle in and enjoy the show.
The Hog Roast Brentwood team embraced this theme, with a brisket that was slow cooked for 24 hours, marinating the intense flavours and causing the meat to melt in your mouth. Guests could choose between not one but three different types of meat, giving real variety to the feast. The cajun chicken was hearty and lightly spiced or people could opt for BBQ pork butt which delivered that rich, smoky flavour all of which works so well at large gatherings. With gluten free rolls included as standard, the menu was accessible and thoughtful, which is something every event organiser needs to prioritise for larger events with a variety of guests.
The February weather causes for a hearty, warming meal with large portion sizes and leaves guests feeling satisfied whilst enjoying quality entertainment. That’s why we provided a variety of sides alongside the main event, the combination of traditional fries, creamy mac and cheese and seasonal vegetables paired perfectly with the southern style meat. It’s the kind of menu that keeps people fuelled through an evening of live music. No one’s slipping out early to grab dinner elsewhere. Instead, they’re sitting in their seats, chatting between sets and grabbing a refill of fries, and making the most of the atmosphere.
With wooden bamboo crockery and cutlery, service was practical and tidy while still fitting the relaxed festival feel. Tea and coffee were served buffet style into disposable cups, alongside bottled water, giving guests easy access to refreshments throughout the evening.
Events like these remind us why we enjoy providing bespoke menus and service to all of our clients. When you book an event with our team at Hog Roast Brentwood, you will get a structured and experienced team who understand timing, scaling a menu to fit guest lists and pleasing presentation. At this Brentwood festival, the Southern slow roast menu wasn’t just food, it was part of the storytelling. It complimented the American music theme and helped create a sense of occasion from the moment guests arrived. That’s exactly what our team at Hog Roast Brentwood can help you achieve. Whether your event is formal, relaxed or somewhere in between, the right catering strengthens everything else around it.
So, if you’re planning an event and want food that feels intentional, it’s worth considering how our menus do more than just feed your guests.
