Hog Roast Maldon – Bringing that Southern Style to an Essex Wedding

At Hog Roast Maldon we do our very best to style our dining according to the event. During the winter, our comforting roasts are perfect for those colder, more wintery vibes. But, when a customer calls you and tells you that their wedding do is going to be held in a rustic, converted barn here in Maldon, well then there is really only one direction that you can and should go – out hot and spicy southern slow roast menu!

When you’ve got the stylings of an old cowboy barn of the old west then why not dine in the style of the west too with our delicious, American-inspired southern slow roast menu. It carries all of the rustic charm and personality of the American south, only it is made right here in Colchester by the excellent Hog Roast Maldon team!

We’re not shy of bringing the heat with our southern slow roast menu. Hot sauces, BBQ marinades, and dry rubs are the base of this wedding sizzler. You get such excellent flavours from the hotter spices, and as we cook everything low and slow that flavour just gets to intensify and come out all the more with every single bite!

When Amanda called the Hog Roast Maldon team to order catering for her wedding do, we knew it had to be our southern slow roast as soon as we heard the party would be held in the Captains Wood Barn. It matched the vibes and the spice of the day, and guests certainly took to it with aplomb. One by one all 120 guests came by our serving table to scoop up massive portions of our Cajun spiced whole roasted chicken, pulled quarter of minted lamb, and Texan style 24 hour brisket. For some added cooling to all that spice, our creamy mac and cheese, corn cobettes, Greek salad, and medley of sweet and regular potato fries were more than up to the task. Based on the number of return visits and the number of entirely empty plates the Hog Roast Maldon team later cleared up, we think our choice for a southern slow roast went down just as we expected it to: perfectly!
