Weddings are a time for joy, togetherness, and of course, incredible food and that’s exactly what Anna and Tarek treated their guests to on the 16th of August at the beautiful Captains Wood Barn in Great Totham. With 75 guests in attendance, our Hog Roast Great Totham catering team had the pleasure of serving up a feast from our popular Southern Slow Roast Menu, a choice that proved to be perfect for the occasion.
The menu was a true celebration of flavour and variety. Guests were able to enjoy tender Texan-style beef brisket, slow-cooked until melt-in-the-mouth perfection, alongside Cajun spiced chicken packed with warming, smoky flavours, and minted lamb that was bursting with freshness. This trio of meats gave the newlyweds and their guests an exciting range of options, ensuring every plate was filled with something delicious.
We also made sure that vegetarian and vegan guests had equally tempting choices. Our grilled vegetable and halloumi skewers (with a vegan alternative available without halloumi) and BBQ pulled jackfruit ensured that no one was left out. Served with wraps, rolls – including gluten-free options – and a selection of dips, this inclusive menu meant all 75 guests could enjoy a meal tailored to their tastes.
To accompany the mains, a vibrant Greek salad brought freshness to the table, while creamy coleslaw provided a classic favourite. A potato dish was also served, adding heartiness to the meal and complementing the richly flavoured meats beautifully. Everything was presented with eco-friendly style on wooden bamboo crockery and cutlery, bringing a rustic yet elegant touch that perfectly matched the barn venue.
The atmosphere was one of joy and celebration, with guests enjoying every bite while raising a glass to Anna and Tarek on their big day. For our team, it was a pleasure to help create memories with food that not only tasted fantastic but also added to the warm, welcoming feel of the celebration.
