There is not any event that we at Hog Roast Boxted don’t think could be improved by a barbecue. It’s one of the simplest of the British summer traditions, but also easily the biggest crowd pleaser as just about everyone can enjoy a good barbie out in the sun. No matter the event, a gourmet barbecue with Hog Roast Boxted is going to please. Even for as big an event as, say, your own wedding!
This past weekend as the temperatures once again soared across the country, the Hog Roast Boxted team were fortunate enough to be attending the incredible wedding reception of Grey and Jean Benson. The newlyweds had booked an excellent venue in Boxted with a wonderful outdoor area. In our first consultation we had discussed the venue grounds and the possibility of utilising the outdoor area if the weather was going to allow for it. Along with these discussions we had also made sure to consider how our dining may be altered if such plans were made. When you have the option of outdoor dining it sometimes make sense to then alter the menu or the serving style slightly to utilise the space and the weather as best as possible.
From these talks we knew that a barbecue could have been an option. As we neared the event it became clear that this was going to be the way to go, as we could all see that the weather was going to be excellent. What was supposed to just be a quick canape service immediately following the ceremony then quickly became a surprise barbecue for guests. The ceremony was held indoors. In the meantime Hog Roast Boxted chefs were set up in the garden and got to barbecuing so that we would have a good couple of dozen rolls ready to go, fresh, and hot, right away as soon as the guests were invited outside.
It proved to be an excellent way to toast to the new couple, and we still had the main dinner to come late on. But a good barbie roll is just the thing to whet the appetite while the sun is out!
