Turning 50 is a big deal— it’s half a century of adventures, memories, and stories to tell! So, when Henry’s milestone birthday rolled around, his family knew they had to go all out.
Fortunately, with Henry away on a week-long work trip in the run-up to the big day, his wife Cheryl and their daughters had the perfect opportunity to plan the ultimate surprise bash. And boy, did they deliver!
The preparations were nothing short of epic. Cheryl and the girls transformed their back garden into a party paradise. They pitched a stretch tent and decked it out with streamers, balloons, and photos of the birthday boy through the years. But that wasn’t all; they had a twist for the night – a thrilling murder mystery experience, complete with actors and a juicy plot—perfect for Henry, the true crime fanatic!
But what’s a birthday bash without some stellar grub? Hog Roast Rowhedge’s catering manager Julian worked his culinary magic, firing up the grill to serve a feast that perfectly matched the sunny weather.
Our spread featured handmade beef burgers, gourmet sausages, succulent chicken kebabs, and sticky spareribs. For our veggie-loving guests, we had delicious veggie burgers and grilled vegetable and halloumi skewers. We complemented all that smoky goodness with a hand-dressed seasonal green leaf salad bursting with cherry tomatoes, cucumber, and spring onions, plus homemade coleslaw and a mix of sweet potato and traditional fries.
As the intoxicating aromas of BBQ goodness filled the air, guests began to arrive, buzzing with excitement. Then, right on cue, Henry came home, oblivious to the surprise awaiting him. When he stepped into the garden, he was met with a chorus of cheers from his family and friends. His jaw dropped in awe—he couldn’t believe his eyes!
After Henry soaked in the festive atmosphere, the guests made a b-line for Hog Roast Rowhedge’s buffet. Plates piled high with smokey, grilled delights were soon making their rounds. Then, the murder mystery experience began, adding a dash of excitement and plenty of fun to the evening. The guests embraced their roles with gusto, and the plot twists kept everyone on their toes.
With the mystery solved and the night winding down, guests enjoyed one last helping of BBQ goodness. As the party drew to a close, Hog Roast Rowhedge took care of the clean-up, carefully packing up leftovers so Cheryl and her family could continue to enjoy our delicious creations over the following days.
